New goal

I want to read of mice and men again. I claim I love Steinbeck but Cant remember why

THE LIST-Revisited

1. Clean out and park in Garage
2. Get rid of 40 items per day (this helps clean the garage)
3. Lose 20 pounds
4. Add 40 new contacts to AVON website
5. Add 40 new customers to FHTM
6. Redo front flower beds at my house
7. Increase my twitter and blog activity
8. Repaint garage door
9. Paint laundry room
10. Pick up 5 new buyer clients
11. De-clutter my house (see#2)
12. Finally file that box of papers in my office
13. Get the boxes down from the attic that have been there since I moved in(12 yrs & never unpacked!!!Probably see that all being trashed)
14. Get all my emails down to zero (I am really bad about not deleting but have some that I need to read first @1700!)
15. Exercise more (see #3) Step 1-Walk 4.0 miles per day- anyone want to walk the greenway ?
16. 40 minutes cardio (Heart health is the #1 issue for women)
17. Send 40 handwritten cards or letters(I miss mail)
18. Donate 40 food&personal care boxes to the Domestic Violence Center (send me those unused coupons, they can always use feminine products and personal care items people don’t think to donate, I like to give cake mixes. One lady there said you can’t imagine what it’s like not to be able to give your child a birthday cake and I can’t imagine it)
19. Start an herb garden-DONE
20. Visit at least 2 Tennessee wineries I have yet to try(trying to visit them all this year)
21. MORE WATER/LESS DIET COKE
22. Payoff my A/C unit ( see #2, 4,5)
23. Replace Bathroom Door
24. Hang shelves in Laundry Room
25. Install steps to Storage building-DONE
26. Finish landscaping around storage building
27. Hook up my icemaker (had fridge 6 years!) -DONE (but it doesn't work)
28. Re-do the scrapbooking closet
29. Finish setting up patio &
30. Host a girl’s night where I
31. Try a new sugar free Margarita recipe &
32. Try the recipe for Paula Deen’s banana pudding that my mom gave me-DONE
33. Read the Warren Buffett Biography I asked for for Christmas 08 and still haven’t opened
34. Go shopping for new swimsuit (see #3)
35. Find new handles for buffet cabinet (I’ve had it 4 years and no handles)
36. Plant a triple pot of pansies from a photo I cut out @8 years ago-DONE but worth revisiting for spring
37. Set up and learn to use Quickbooks
38. Sand and refinish the back door trim that Tanner scratched as a puppy.
39. Dye my hair purple (just kidding. Needed one more thing to make 40 on the list)
40. Be more organized and stop proscrastinating about things @ home- Hence this list!!!

WOW!!! even though I accomplished a lot on the list, I still have let a lot go back and have more to do!! I will replace a few items in the next few days. But here we go again. I CAN DO IT!!!!!

So far so good!

So far I have gotten rid of @500 items (a little behind I know). This includes magazines, books, vhs tapes, pens, etc. Lots of little stuff. You would be surprised how quickly those numbers add up. I had lost 4 pounds but a week at my mom's brought me back up by 3. So I have upped the water and given up alot until this is over. Today was WCR breakfast and tonight is Bunco which means tomorrow I do some extra cardio:)

I have removed 2 items from the list. #19- I started my herb garden before I left for DC and have some little cilantro sprouts already!!! #32 We tried this recipe at my moms last week -hence the 3 lbs:)
I have 1 new buyer client (#10) and working on more.
I have changed #18 to be any charity not just the DVC. I am taking alot from the pantry to a tornado drop off tomorrow.
I have purchased cards but not mailed them yet (#17) Plan to relax tomorrow night and get a few done.
WOW- doesnt seem like a lot but feels good to be checking things off the list.

Day 7- What I have accomplished so far

Today is the start of day 7. So far I have lost 2 pounds. Still a long way to go but I will do it. I have cleaned out the cabinets and gotten rid of the processed stuff, chips, etc. These items have been added to my total of things I have gotten rid of-which currently is a little over 200 so short of the 280 I should be at my the end of the day. But I intend to spend tomorrow morning cleaning the garage which should more than make up for the difference (and burn some calories I hope). The grocery items I am giving away are being added to the stockpile for the Domestic Violence Center. So far I have 3 boxes of stuff. I have sent 2 Handwrittencards and have a few more I plan to write out today. My water intake is up and have limited myself to one diet coke per day (this is VERY hard).
Hopefully tomorrow I can work on the flower beds if it does not rain. Then I will start the 838 page book tomorrow night before bed. If I just read 20 pages per day, I will be done in time. Wow-it feels good to be knocking this list down.

May 1st , 2011

Today I woke up and started my day as normal. Got my paper, cut my coupons, took a shower. Aaw the morning shower. I don't know about most of you, but to me, a long hot shower is the perfect place to think. I plan my day, think about my to do list and what needs done. Or in the case of today, suddenly realize that I am going to be 40 next month!! Now I am not dreading 40. I know age is a number and I certainly feel a lot younger. But, I had many things I wanted to do before now that I didnt get done. I know I cant get them all done. Some are past their time and will never be done. But there are some things I have been putting off that I can do, so I have created what I am calling my "40by40 Challenge". This is a list of 40 things I want to get done in the next 58 days. Feel free to comment or challenge me. I need support to get all of them done. I will blog daily on my progress. Any suggestions are also helpful.
I will post my full list of 40 things separately.
